I am so proud of myself. I am not good at finishing things. I usually take on huge projects and then work on them for like year, or something that requires too much finishing for me to actually get through to the final finished object. But...I FINISHED TWO THINGS IN ONE WEEK!! I finished a pair of fetchings, and also a feather and fan scarf that I started a couple of weeks ago. I even wove in all of the ends and everything. I still need to block the scarf, as it is curling in a bit, and it's a little short, and I am hoping it will grow a few inches. If it seems too short still, I may gift it to a younger sister. They are always so impressed by my knitting. Probably because they are still in elementary school and have yet to realize that I am in fact not the coolest person in the world. But yeah, I'm really proud.

Poor Newlyweds!
So, I am learning to adjust to having so many more bills than I did before I got married. My husband and I were both living in a "rent free" situation, so now that we have moved into our apartment, we have a lot more bills to worry about. So I have been tightening the belt on what I have been spending, and I'm doing really well. I am usually such a shopaholic. But in the last week I joined Ravelry, that may be the undoing of my money saving plan! It's torture to look at the finished versions of patterns I want to knit, not to mention seeing all kinds of new projects that I love. I should have made sure I was stocked up with yarn for enough things to keep me busy for awhile. Right now, I pretty much just have the yarn for the projects I am working on, which are both square, the mitered squares are fun, however it's the same thing over and over and over. I would really love to start something with a little more interest! But I have to say that being married is still pretty awesome, even if I have to go on an involuntary yarn diet.

Ok, so I am totally in love with this needle case. I was hoping to maybe be able to get it with my next paycheck, as a little treat for not eating out or really spending any money yet this month, but my husbands car just broke down this morning! Isn't that the way it goes, haha. Now any extra money will be going to fix that. I have been making pretty good progress on the psychedelic squares blanket. I'm really glad
I decided to use the suggested yarn. I really love the tahki cotton classic. The colors are so vibrant and pretty. The only other cotton I've used, sort of pilled, I know that isn't exactly the word I want, but I can't think of any other way to describe it. I signed up for my first knitting group! I don't really know anyone else who knits, so it should be fun. I am a little nervous, because I don't know anyone in the group. I wish I had a friend who knit who I could take with me. So I am a little bit hesitant to go, but I really want knitting friends!

First Post!
Ok, so this is my first blog post, so I guess I will say a little bit about myself. My name is Mikki, I am 23 years old. I just got married on April 12th of this year. My husband's name is Taylor, and we have a dog named Lexi, who is pretty much our baby. Taylor and I have been together for about a year and a half. We actually met on the internet, which I was really embarrassed about that at first, but I have found out that a lot of people I know met their spouses/boyfriends/girlfriends that way.
I work at a company that produces phone directories. My job is to basically process the contracts for advertising, I am the lead in my department. I really like my job, It's challenging but it's also not too stressful.
My one hobby that has actually stuck is knitting. I love to knit! I have a habit of biting off a little more than I can chew sometimes though. I am sort of a timid knitter, I am trying to start doing projects that are a little more complicated. So far I have stuck to pretty straightforward projects, like things for around my house. And I have knitted some socks. I'm not really scared of doing harder patterns, I just get nervous about configuring things to fit correctly.
So that is pretty much all there is to say I guess?
